About Me

Markie Hooper is a New York state certified K-12 educational technology specialist and 7-12 social studies teacher. She has over eight years of experience a a tech coach in North Country schools and has been a presenter at several local professional development events as part of the SLLBOCES Model Schools Program.

She is a lifelong learner who is passionate about improving education through the vehicle of technology. She can do many things, but a few things she specializes in include:

• technology and pedagogy-focused professional development

• just-in-time tech coach support

• online course design in systems like Schoology

• the creation of polished digital and printed materials

• the making of useful things in Google Workspace

• teaching both elementary technology and high school social studies

• …and learning new software very quickly

She is currently taking a short break from teaching/coaching to recharge and work on new ideas like this website.
